Tootsie Pops and Candy Factories

So, how many licks does it take to get to the Tootsie Roll center of a Tootsie Pop? 540, according to Kenzie.
Yesterday, he finished Roald Dahl’s Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and declared, "This is the best book I’ve ever, ever read!" So, now I’m on the lookout for Charlie and the Great Glass Elevator - the one illustrated by Quentin Blake, because Kenzie adores the pictures. I’m sure we’ll move on to James and the Giant Peach, The Witches, and goodness-knows-what-else soon.

Funny you posted this. A little off topic here, but I was watching a show–I can’t remember what show–and they showed that college students made a licking machine to show how many licks it would take to get to the center. LOL! I wish I remembered how many, but interesting.

I remember I did this as a kid, too, but I can’t for the life of me recall how many licks it took me. I figured I’d better write down Kenzie’s finding before it was lost to time, too!

LOL! It’s a good experiment. I tell you, the little things that can be great experiences. I discovered a rotten bag of potatoes today and ick. The little bugs that came out could have been a great experiement if I wasn’t so icked out that I cleaned it right away. hahaha
